Woman in Critical Condition After Being Struck by Vehicle on Ouellette Avenue
A 40-year-old woman is in critical condition after being struck by a motor vehicle while crossing Ouellette Avenue early this morning, according to Windsor police.
Collision Details
Officers responded to a report of a vehicle collision in the 1100 block of Ouellette Avenue around 2:30 a.m. A preliminary investigation revealed that the woman was crossing the street in the middle of the block when she was struck by an oncoming vehicle.
Driver Attacked After Collision
According to police, the driver got out of his vehicle after the collision and was then attacked by a man who had been accompanying the pedestrian. The driver was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Road Closures and Investigation
Ouellette Avenue remains closed in both directions between Giles Boulevard and Pine Street while members of the Windsor Police Service Traffic Reconstruction Unit conduct their investigation. Motorists are asked to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.
