Country Star Bailey Zimmerman Faces Arrest Warrant Over Alleged Hotel Damage
Country singer Bailey Zimmerman is facing legal trouble after being accused of causing more than $16,000 in damage to a hotel room in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
According to court documents reviewed by Entertainment Weekly, an arrest warrant was issued for the 26-year-old musician on June 18. Zimmerman is charged with a fourth-degree felony for allegedly obtaining services under false pretenses and for damaging property in excess of $1,000.
Incident Details
The allegations stem from an incident on May 27, the same day Zimmerman abruptly canceled a scheduled appearance at the Sandia Resort and Casino during his Different Night, Same Rodeo Tour.
According to an affidavit obtained by People, the concerns began during sound check when Zimmerman reportedly exhibited signs of intoxication. Witnesses claimed he stumbled onto the stage, grabbed a guitar and hurled it to the floor before falling backwards. The affidavit also alleged he threw cymbals, kicked a drum kit, pushed a guitarist and threw a microphone before storming off the stage.
The situation reportedly escalated further when Zimmerman allegedly spat in the direction of a Sandia security guard. He was then escorted to a waiting SUV but initially refused to get in because the vehicle was white instead of black.
After returning to the resort, the affidavit said Zimmerman was seen stumbling down the hallway with blood visible on his left knee. Resort staff allegedly ordered him to leave the property, but authorities were called after he reportedly became uncooperative.
Extensive Property Damage
Although Zimmerman eventually left alone, cleaning staff reportedly discovered significant damage to his room the next morning. According to investigators, the room contained a broken phone, a damaged television, missing furniture, a hole in the wall and other damage. Total damage exceeded $16,000.
Authorities also alleged that Zimmerman left without paying a $400 liquor fee. The resort reportedly applied for an arrest warrant after there were several unsuccessful attempts to contact the singer.
Public Statement and Response
At the time of the incident, Zimmerman had publicly blamed health issues for the cancellation of two tour dates. In an Instagram statement posted on May 27, he told fans he had been feeling unwell and couldn’t give the performance they deserved, saying he needed time to recover before returning to the stage.
Neither Zimmerman nor his representatives immediately responded to requests for comment after the allegations emerged.
Return to Performing
Despite the allegations, Zimmerman soon returned to performing. According to Global News, he performed at CMA Fest 2026 in Nashville on June 7 before continuing the Canadian leg of his tour.
