Country Music Star Bailey Zimmerman Faces Criminal Charges Over Hotel Vandalism
Country music artist Bailey Zimmerman is facing federal and criminal charges after allegedly causing over $16,000 in damage to a hotel room at the Sandia Resort and Casino in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The 26-year-old singer, known for his hit “Rock and a Hard Place,” was charged with criminal damage to property exceeding $1,000 and falsely obtaining services, according to a June 18 court filing reported by Billboard, People, and Entertainment Weekly.
Incident Details
The incident occurred on May 27, the same day Zimmerman was scheduled to perform at the resort. He canceled the show, citing illness in an Instagram post to fans. However, an arrest warrant affidavit obtained by People revealed a different account of events. According to the document, Zimmerman appeared “exhibit signs of intoxication” during interactions with staff and sound check. He allegedly stumbled into the amphitheater, fell backwards across the stage, destroyed a guitar, and spit “in the direction of a nearby Sandia security guard” before being driven back to the resort.
Property Damage and Additional Allegations
The situation escalated the following morning when housekeepers entered Zimmerman’s room and discovered extensive damage. The affidavit details broken phones, damaged televisions, a destroyed coffee table, damaged chairs, a hole in the wall, carpet stains, and two missing chairs. The resort also claimed Zimmerman charged $400 for alcohol to his room and allegedly failed to pay his bill.
According to the report, the resort gave Zimmerman a deadline to leave the property, but he became “disorderly,” prompting staff to contact the Sandia Tribal Police Department.
Current Status and Upcoming Performances
Despite the charges, Zimmerman has continued with his tour schedule. He performed at CMA Fest 2026 in Nashville on June 7 and subsequently traveled to Canada for his Different Night Same Rodeo Tour. His next scheduled performance is set for Thursday at the Country Drive Music Festival in Nebraska.
Global News reached out to both Zimmerman’s representatives and the Sandia Tribal Police Department for comment but did not receive a response. The news outlet noted it had not independently viewed the court records.
