Subway Canada Launches The SubDog, a First-of-Its-Kind Foot-Long Hot Dog
Subway Canada is shaking up the summer menu with the debut of The SubDog, a foot-long hot dog that the company says is the first of its kind in the country. Made from half a pound of pure beef and served on freshly baked bread, the new item marks Subway’s official entry into the hot dog category.
The SubDog pairs a Schneider’s hot dog with Subway’s signature build-your-own experience, giving customers the freedom to customize their order with a range of fresh toppings. Options include crisp lettuce and tomatoes alongside classic condiments like ketchup and mustard.
“People have been discussing this for years, but at Subway we know sandwiches,” said Chef John Botelho, culinary manager at Subway Canada. “With the SubDog, we don’t just participate in the discussion, we settle the matter. It’s a sandwich.”
Big Swing Sweepstakes Offers Fans a Blue Jays Experience
The launch coincides with Subway’s ongoing partnership with the Toronto Blue Jays. As part of its summer campaign, Subway Canada is rolling out the Big Swing Sweepstakes, a national competition created in collaboration with the baseball team.
From Monday through August 31st, guests who purchase a SubDog will receive a unique PIN for a chance to win weekly prizes. All entries will also be entered into a grand prize drawing for an exclusive Blue Jays game weekend experience.
How to Get Your Hands on the SubDog
The SubDog will be available at participating Subway restaurants across Canada for a limited time starting Monday. Customers can order in-store or place an order through Subway.com or the Subway app.
