Metro Vancouver Offers Free World Cup Watch Parties This Summer

Canada kicked off its first FIFA World Cup match against Bosnia and Herzegovina on Friday, and fans across Metro Vancouver are gearing up to cheer on the national team. For those looking to soak in the electric atmosphere without spending a dime, several municipalities are hosting free public viewing events throughout the tournament, running from June 11 to July 19.

Vancouver

Hastings Park will serve as Vancouver’s main fan zone, offering free entry for all games during the tournament. Some ticketed options may also be available for select events. For more information click here.

North Vancouver

Canada Soccer House at The Shipyards (125 Victory Ship Way) will host free watch parties for every game from June 11 through July 19. For more information click here.

Surrey

Surrey Civic Plaza (13450 104 Ave) is opening its doors for free entry throughout the tournament, with a full Fanzone experience available on select dates between June 11 and July 19. For more information click here.

Coquitlam

Coquitlam is hosting a Summer of Football Community Viewing Party at Blue Mountain Park (975 King Albert Ave) on June 24. The city will also hold a Canada Day Soccer Viewing Area at Town Center Park (1299 Pinetree Way) on July 1. Both events are free to attend.

Burnaby

Fans in Burnaby can catch all the action at Brentwood Plaza and TABLES Lounge at The Amazing Brentwood (4567 Lougheed Hwy), with free entry from June 11 to July 19. For more information click here.

Richmond

Richmond is celebrating the World Cup with a series of events designed to honor both the tournament and the broader soccer community. Activities include raffles, giveaways, live entertainment, and food trucks. The next event takes place June 14 at Hamilton Community Park, with the final celebration on July 19 at Aberdeen Neighborhood Park. All events are free. For more information click here.

New Westminster

New Westminster is hosting several watch parties throughout the tournament. The next Canadian Matchwatch party is scheduled for June 18 at Ryall Park, with free entry. For more information click here.

Maple Ridge

Maple Ridge fans can gather at both Memorial Peace Park and the ACT Arts Center for free viewing parties. The next event is set for June 18 at Memorial Peace Park. For more information click here.

Delta

Ladner Village Pop-Up Park (4926 Chisholm St) will host free events from June 11 to July 19, though the fan zone will be closed on July 13. For more information click here.

Langley

Langley’s Civic Plaza at Langley City Hall (20399 Douglas Crescent) will host free watch parties on June 18, July 2, July 7, and July 19. For more information click here.

With free viewing options spread across nearly every corner of Metro Vancouver, soccer fans have plenty of opportunities to come together and support Team Canada as the World Cup unfolds this summer.
