Truck Driver Charged After Vehicle Becomes Jammed on Caledon Road
Incident Overview
A 65‑year‑old driver from Mississauga attempted a tight hairpin turn on Forks of the Credit Road, only to have his large truck and trailer become wedged in the guardrail.
Road Conditions and Closure
The stretch of road between Mississauga Road, Mississauga Road South and Hurontario Street is marked as a low‑traffic scenic route, with signs warning that heavy vehicles are not permitted.
OPP reported that the road was shut for more than two hours while crews worked to safely remove the truck and trailer.
Charges Laid
The driver, whose name has not been released, was charged with disobeying a traffic signal and with obstructing traffic.
OPP Safety Reminder
Caledon OPP reminded commercial vehicle operators to respect posted route restrictions, stressing that drivers should trust road signs over GPS directions when the two conflict.
