Using Familiar Tunes to Encourage a Safe Return
Calgary police announced a new approach in the search for 11‑year‑old Parker, who has been missing since Thursday. Officers are playing his favorite Disney songs from patrol cars in the areas where he may be found, hoping the familiar melodies will catch his attention and prompt him to come out.
Amber Alert Issued with Special Circumstances
An Amber Alert was issued for Parker on Saturday. While an 11‑year‑old’s disappearance typically does not meet the criteria for an Amber Alert, the province granted an exception because of the unique circumstances of this investigation.
Who Is Parker?
Parker is neurodivergent and nonverbal, which can make him more anxious when approached by strangers. He was last seen shirtless, wearing gray shorts and black noise‑cancelling headphones. He stands about 1.20 meters tall, weighs roughly 45 kilograms, and has brown hair and brown eyes.
Timeline and Locations
He was last observed between 11:08 a.m. and 11:41 a.m. on Thursday at his day home on Connaught Drive Northwest, in the 0‑100 block. Around noon, police reported that clothing items believed to belong to Parker were found in the 0‑100 block of Northmount Drive Northwest. CCTV footage captured him at 12:52 p.m. in the 5000‑6000 block of Travis Crescent Northeast, about five to six kilometres from the day home.
Police Statement
“This search remains a top priority,” the Calgary Police Service said in a post on X. “We will continue to do everything we can to find Parker and bring him home safely.”
