Search Continues for Two Boys Missing in Whiteshell Provincial Park

RCMP launched a water, land and air search after two boys slipped into fast‑flowing rapids at Whiteshell Provincial Park in Manitoba.
Location and Time
The report of a possible drowning came in near Sturgeon Falls Trail on Nutimik Lake around 12:40 a.m. Saturday. Nutimik Lake lies roughly an hour and a half east of Winnipeg.
Response Efforts
When officers arrived, they were joined by local fire and rescue services and the Manitoba Conservation Service. The two boys, aged 10 and 13, had fallen into the rapids.
The Manitoba RCMP Underwater Recovery Team and the Hutterian Emergency Aquatic Response Team (HEART) were deployed to aid the search.
Current Status
As of Sunday afternoon, RCMP confirmed that neither child had been located despite extensive patrols on the water and along the shoreline.
RCMP and HEART teams said they will remain on scene and continue their efforts to find the boys.
