Cardinals Offensive Lineman Isaiah Adams Facing Criminal Charges

Charges and Context

Isaiah Derrick Adams, a 25‑year‑old offensive lineman for the Arizona Cardinals, was named as one of four individuals charged by Durham Regional Police in a recent weapons‑and‑gang investigation.

The charges include possession of a firearm obtained by crime, possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm without a licence, possession of a loaded firearm, and possession of a prohibited device.

Police said the allegations have not yet been proven in court.

Details of the Investigation

Durham police announced the arrests on Monday, revealing that the probe concluded with three suspects taken into custody on Friday and a fourth turning himself in on Sunday.

Investigators allege that a male suspect believed to be trafficking drugs was found with a woman in a vehicle in Ajax, where officers seized roughly three kilograms of suspected fentanyl.

A subsequent search of an apartment in Pickering led to the arrest of another female suspect and the discovery of a loaded firearm reported stolen from Georgia, an over‑capacity prohibited magazine, and a replica Uzi.

Adams’ Football Background

Adams, a native of Pickering, Ontario, celebrated his 26th birthday earlier this week and played college football at Wilfrid Laurier University.

He entered the NFL as the 71st overall pick in the 2024 draft and has since started 16 games, primarily at right guard, for the NFC West team.

Before his NFL career, Adams was the top‑ranked Canadian prospect in the 2024 CFL Draft but went undrafted, later joining the Edmonton Elks’ trial list shortly after his indictment.

Cardinals’ Response

A team spokesperson told Arizona Sports that they are aware of the situation and, out of respect for the legal process, will refrain from further comment.

The Cardinals’ offensive line will continue preparations for training camp, which is set to begin on Wednesday.
